Power Restriction Situation in East China's Shandong Province.

Power Restriction Situation in East China's Shandong Province.

Since middle September, some regions of China have been experiencing power rationing. Enterprises in Jiangsu, Yunnan and Zhejiang suspended production due largely to the “dual control” of energy consumption. Whereas, enterprises in other provinces were mainly suffering from the short supply of electricity.

Since this year, coal prices increased largely due to the short supply. The surging coal prices and stable electricity prices hit the coal-based power enterprises’ enthusiasm for production.

Areas in Shandong province have received notices of power rationing, which was caused by a shortage of electricity supply. At present, power rationing in Shandong province is mainly aimed at industrial power consumption, and the way adopted is staggered peak production in batches and in different periods. Some regions have received compulsory measures of working for several days and resting for several days. So far, no news or notice has been received about the restriction of residential power consumption.
