Scrap prices edge up.

          Turkish scrap import prices rose slightly day on day. Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $506/mt CFR, up $1/mt day on day. The daily outright spread between Turkish export rebar and import scrap was assessed at $264/mt, down $4/mt on the day.

          S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish exported rebar at $770/mt FOB Turkey, up $5/mt on day.

          One Marmara mill source put a mill offer at $790-$800/mt FOB and reported the same deal to Canada.

          Another Marmara mill source confirmed the deal to Canada for 35,000 mt at $760/mt FOB theoretical weight, which calculated to $780/mt FOB actual weight. No additional information regarding extras or diameters was heard by the time of publication.

          One EU trader told Platts that the deal could possibly be around $770-$780/mt FOB since price levels in Canada support these levels. He confirmed, though, that Marmara mills were last targeting $795/mt FOB minimum.
