The reporter learned from the 2022 International Standardization Conference held recently that under the guidance of the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goal, China is continuing to deepen the cooperation with international standards organizations such as IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and actively promote the establishment of a carbon neutrality standard system that meets international standards, and build a conformity assessment service platform to promote green and low-carbon development with standardization.
IEC is one of the world's three major international standards organizations, and is placing the topics proposed by China, such as carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, energy transition, and zero-carbon power systems, into its strategic plan. In the next five years, 1 to 2 new technology committees will be established in the field of low-carbon energy, and 10 to 20 international standards will be cultivated.
