The Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) issued a circular introducing an Ultra-low Emission Standard for coke producers in China. This is a new initiative from the Chinese government aimed at improving the environmental performance of the Chinese steel industry.

          The objective is to facilitate air quality improvement and support the decarbonisation of the coke and steel industry.

          The focus is on the reduction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions, among other pollutants.
