JISCO's Hongyu New Materials has successfully supplied its independently developed hot-dip high-strength zinc-aluminum-magnesium coated steel for a major transport infrastructure upgrade project in Gansu Province.
The material was used in mobile high-strength barriers installed on the Guazhou-Xingxingxia renovation project, a key initiative aimed at enhancing transport efficiency in the Hexi Corridor.
Located in the harsh Gobi Desert environment, the project demanded materials with exceptional resistance to extreme temperature variations, wind-blown sand, and intense UV radiation.
JISCO's technical team worked closely with the client to tailor the alloy composition and production process, delivering a material that offers over three times the corrosion resistance of traditional hot-dip galvanized steel, along with self-healing cut-edges and high strength.
These properties are expected to significantly extend the service life of the barriers and reduce maintenance costs.
JISCO provided on-site technical support throughout the installation process. The project's final inspection confirmed that the barriers met all requirements for surface quality, mechanical properties, and formability.
This marks the first application of the company's advanced corrosion-resistant steel in the transport sector, paving the way for its broader use in regional infrastructure development.
