China’s BF operating rate was roughly stable while EAF rose

         The BF operating rate at 195 Chinese steel mills was 93.83% on February 25, down 0.8 percentage point from last survey and up 10.15 percentage points from the second week after last Chinses New Year. In terms of BF volume, operating rate was 94.85%, down 0.83 percentage point from last survey and up 7.98 percentage points from the second week after last Chinese New Year.

          In this week, the electric furnace operating rate was 57.35%, up 20.1 percentage points from last survey and up 37.65 percentage points year on year (the second week after last Chinese New Year holiday). In terms of volume electric furnaces, operating rate was 54.49%, up 21.16 percentage points from last survey and up 37.7 percentage points year on year.

          In this week, capacity utilization of coking plants was 84.61%, up 0.27 percentage point from last survey and up 17.86 percentage points from the second week after last Chinese New Year holiday.
