China's Jiangsu Shagang rolls over steel rebar, rod prices for May 11-20: source

China's largest privately owned steelmaker, Jiangsu Shagang Group, rolled over its domestic rebar and rod selling list prices for May 11-20 from the previous 10-day period, a company source said May 11.

The price of Shagang's 16-25 mm diameter HRB400 rebar was Yuan 5,350/mt ($795/mt), including 13% value-added tax, while the price of its 6.5 mm HPB300 rod was Yuan 5,310/mt, including VAT, the source said.

Rebar traded at Yuan 4,860/mt in the active Hangzhou market on May 11, down Yuan 190/mt from May 5, the source at Shagang said. Hangzhou market prices are used as a yardstick in the eastern China rebar market.

The most actively traded October 2022 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at Yuan 4,681/mt ($695/mt) May 11, down Yuan 242/mt, or 5%, from the first trading day after Labor Day holiday in China on May 5.
