HBIS Wugang Launches Internationally Leading X70Q Pipeline Steel with 32mm Max Thickness

HBIS Group’s Wugang company recently rolled out a high-performance X70Q pipeline steel plate with a maximum thickness of 32mm.

Performance tests confirm all indicators reach internationally leading levels. The product is slated to replace imports and will be used in a domestic LNG public pipeline corridor project.

During client discussions, urgent needs were identified for thick pipeline steel with stringent tensile and drop-weight toughness requirements.

Faced with the technical challenges of producing thick plates and tight delivery schedules, Wugang’s high-end product development team devised a dedicated production and supply plan that won client approval. Through extensive trials, they optimized steelmaking chemistry and introduced two key rolling process innovations, rigorously controlling quality throughout.

This effort overcame industry-wide difficulties in ensuring the yield-to-tensile strength ratio and drop-weight toughness of thick steel plates, ultimately exceeding customer requirements and reaching international top-tier performance.
