SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index (SHCNSI) was 87.18 points (3,770 yuan) on September 3, 2026, down 0.16 point (8 yuan) from the previous trading day.

Construction steel: 20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 3,212 yuan/t in 28 domestic markets, down 11 yuan/t from previous trading day.

Medium plate: 20mm Q235 medium plate price averaged at 3,579 yuan/t in 28 domestic markets, down 3 yuan/t from previous trading day.

HRC: 5.75mm Q235 HRC average price was 3,378 yuan/t in 28 domestic markets, down 8 yuan/t from previous trading day.

CRC: Average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 3,839 yuan/t in 28 domestic markets, down 1 yuan/t from previous trading day.

On September 3, prices for common carbon billets in the Qian’an area fell by 10 yuan/t, with ex-works prices at 3,020 yuan/t and spot billet prices at 3,080 yuan/t.

Direct-delivery transactions remained sluggish, with traders mainly engaged in basis trading. Downstream demand for billet remained weak amid limited procurement of finished steel products. The billet market is expected to remain largely stable in the short term.
